On 20 December 2012, the Ministry of Domestic Trade and Costs of Living (KPDN) adopted the Consumer Protection (Electronic Trade Transactions) Regulations 2012. The Regulation defines an online marketplace as a website where goods or services are marketed by third parties for the purpose of trade and an online marketplace operator as a person who provides an online marketplace. The Regulation provides that such online marketplace operators are obliged to disclose certain information on their website, such as the registration number of the business or the company, a description of the goods or services, and other terms and conditions.
