Ecuador: Proposed user data rights in new data protection law

The Law on the Protection of Personal Data is introduced into the Ecuadorian National Assembly. If adopted, the law would give Ecuardorian residents the right to access, rectify, oppose and eliminate records of personal data. The law include extraterritorial applications to data handlers who supply services to Ecuadorian residents from abroad.
