United States of America: Opened consultation on Protecting Controlled Unclassified Information in Nonfederal Systems and Organizations (SP 800-171)

Description

Opened consultation on Protecting Controlled Unclassified Information in Nonfederal Systems and Organizations (SP 800-171)

On 19 July 2022, the US Computer Security Resource Center (NIST) opened a public consultation until 16 September 2022 to update the publication "Protecting Controlled Unclassified Information in Nonfederal Systems and Organizations" (SP 800-171) and its supporting publications SP 800-171A, SP 800-172, and SP 800-172A, all part of the Controlled Unclassified Information (CUI) series. Particularly, the NIST seeks to understand how organizations have been using the CUI series of publications and how they interact with other cybersecurity standards like the "NIST Risk Management Framework", "NIST Cybersecurity Framework", "GSA Federal Risk and Authorization Management Program", and the "DOD Cybersecurity Maturity Model Certification".
