Indonesia: Kominfo opened consultation on draft regulation on procedures for administrative sanctions

On 13 July 2022, the Indonesian Ministry of Communication and Information ('Kominfo') published the draft regulation on procedures for administrative sanctions. In particular, it aims at implementing Article 101 of Government Regulation No. 71/2019 on the Implementation of Electronic Systems and Transactions. The Ministerial Draft includes the requirement of compliance with data protection principles. The Draft creates the conditions for Kominfo to impose sanctions (written warnings, administrative fines, temporary suspensions, and access terminations) and it provides the opportunity for operators to object to sanctions in court. Kominfo will accept comments on the Draft for two weeks.
