Announced Memorandum of Understanding on personal data protection collaboration

On 31 May 2019, the Hong Kong Office of the Privacy Commissioner for Personal Data and Singapore’s Personal Data Protection Commission announced that they had signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to strengthen cooperation in the area of personal data protection. The cooperation between the Data Protection Authorities (DPAs) of Hong Kong and Singapore includes the exchange of information and best data protection practices and policies, coordination and mutual assistance in cross-border personal data investigations, and joint research projects.
