China: State Council publishes National Standardisation Development Outline

On 10 October 2021, the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China and the State Council issued the National Standardisation Development Outline, detailing the country's strategy on technical standardisation. The Outline sets out a number of goals, including improving the quality and rate of standardisation, increasing international cooperation and establishing an improved infrastructure to implement and oversee compliance with the issued technical standards. The Outline also applies to different aspects of the digital economy, encouraging the establishment of standards for data security and transmission and platform economy.
