United States of America: Adopted Executive Order on Protecting Access to Reproductive Healthcare Services

On 8 July 2022, US President Joe Biden has issued the Executive Order on Protecting Access to Reproductive Healthcare Services, which includes measures relating to the privacy of reproductive healthcare patients. The Order encourages the Chair of the Federal Trade Commission to take actions to protect the privacy of consumers seeking information about and the provision of reproductive healthcare services. Furthermore, the Order requires the Secretary of Health and Human Services and the Attorney General to consider taking actions to educate consumers on best practices for protecting health privacy and limiting the collecting and sharing of sensitive health-related information.
