Description

Introduced Amendment of Consumer Data Right rules

On 22 December 2020, the Australian Competition and Consumer Commission (ACCC) amended the Consumer Data Right rules. The amendment expands the types of consumers able to use the CDR including additional business customers. The provisions improve the consumer experience, provide more flexibility for business model participants and enable customers to share their data with other entities that are accredited. Data holders must implement a consumer data request service that enables non-individuals and business partnerships to grant and also revoke authorizations for the disclosure of consumer data.
