Germany: Published BSI technical guidelines on security requirements for healthcare apps

On 23 June 2022, the German Federal Office for Information Security (BSI) published technical guidelines on security requirements for healthcare mobile-/web-apps. The guidelines provide guidance for developers and operators of applications in the healthcare sector regarding preventive measures for technical security. It comprises requirements for three parts, mobile applications (TR-03161-1), web applications (TR-03161-2) and background systems (TR-03161-3). Furthermore, the BSI offers certification according to the TR for proven compliance with security requirements.
