Australia: Published joint statement highlights common basis on merger controls including tech giants

The British Competition & Markets Authority, the Australian Competition & Consumer Commission and the German Bundeskartellamt published a joint statement on merger control enforcement. The aim is to highlight to businesses, advisers, courts and governments that there is a common understanding across competition agencies on the need for rigorous and effective merger enforcement, including the issue of acquisitive tech giants.
