Germany: German Federal Court of Justice requests CJEU interpretation on copyright liability of platforms

On 13 September 2018, the German Federal Court of Justice requested a preliminary ruling from the Court of Justice of the European Union (CJEU) in a case on the copyright liability of online platforms for content infringing copyrights uploaded by users. Specifically, the Federal Court of Justice is requesting the CJEU clarification on the interpretation of the Directive on the enforcement of intellectual property rights and e-commerce law.
