Germany: BayLDA announces expansion of cybersecurity audit campaign to security of email accounts

On 31 May 2022, the Bayerisches Landesamt für Datenschutzaufsicht (BayLDA), the Bavarian data protection authority, has announced it has expanded the range of its audit campaign on cybersecurity. Previously the audit focused only on ransomware. From now on, the authority will further audit the security of email accounts used by Bavarian businesses. Furthermore, businesses will be provided with advice to help them implement cybersecurity measures.
