Announced U.S. Department of Commerce Securing the Information and Communications Technology and Services Supply Chain Rule

On 19 January 2021, the U.S. Department of Commerce promulgated new regulations to implement the Executive Order "on Securing the Information and Communications Technology and Services Supply Chain’ (no. 13873). The regulations create the mechanism that the Secretary of Commerce will use to identify the riskful transactions with "foreign adversaries" countries that involve information and communications technology. The Regulations will be implemented on 21 March 2022.
