Indonesia: Issued regulation No. 80/2019 containing content moderation requirement

Government Regulation No. 80 of 2019 on Trading through Electronic System (GR80) is issued by the Indonesian government. The Regulation introduces various measures concerning contracts, payments, product delivery and businesses' obligations in transactions operated through electronic systems. Particularly, the Regulation requires e-commerce service providers to act quickly to remove illegal electronic links and content after becoming aware of their presence. Otherwise, the service providers become responsible for the presence of such content on the service.
