Announced EU-Japan Digital Partnership

On 12 May 2022, the EU and Japan issued a joint statement on the conclusion of the EU-Japan Summit 2022, announcing the launch of the EU-Japan Digital Partnership. The partnership aims to facilitate cooperation regarding the digital economy, including 5/6G, artificial intelligence, data privacy including cross-border data flows and green data infrastructures. The progress of the partnership will be assessed on a yearly basis.
