Established Advisory Council for Open Network for Digital Commerce

On 5 July 2021, the Indian Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade (DPIIT) and the Ministry of Commerce and Industry established the Advisory Council for Open Network for Digital Commerce (ONDC). ONDC's role is to promote open network protocols and open-sourced methodology and data within digital commerce. The Advisory Council was created to advise the Indian government and aims to digitize the entire value chain of digital commerce, including logistics plans and foreign suppliers. Moreover, the project aims to facilitate the shopping experience for consumers as well as enhance efficiency in the supply chain.
