Introduction of Digital Commodity Exchange Act

On 28 April 2022, the Digital Commodity Exchange Act was introduced to the House. It would allow the Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC) to assume an oversight role in all digital commodity exchanges. The CFTC would be responsible for the registration of trading businesses that deal in digital commodity markets. The Digital Commodity Exchange Act further specifies that trading activity, capital requirements, transparency standards, and cybersecurity practices need to be defined.
