United States of America: California State Attorney issues Opinion on Consumer Rights within the CCPA

On March 10 2022, the California Attorney General issued an opinion within the context of the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA) on a consumer's right to information. Specifically, the Attorney General's office answered the question of whether consumers have the right to access information that a business did not collect directly but rather inferred by third-party sources. According to the Attorney General, consumers have the right to know what the business inferred both directly and indirectly about its consumer.
