Announced competition investigation into e-commerce market

On 31 March 2022, the Mexican Competition Commission (Cofece) announced an investigation (IEBC-001-2022) into competition barriers in the e-commerce market. Cofece noted that the investigation concerns the market for the purchase and sale of retail merchandise through the Internet. It is the first Cofece investigation into a digital market, justified by the substantial increase of e-commerce in Mexico.
