Implemented Criteria on Storing Computer Traffic Data of Service Providers B.E. 2564 (2021)

On 13 August 2021, the Criteria on Storing Computer Traffic Data of Service Providers B.E. 2564 (2021) of the Ministry of Digital Economy and Society entered into force. The Criteria require various service providers, including telecommunications operators, social media, app stores and internet service providers, to respect certain criteria in the storage of user data. In particular, the service providers are required to implement security measures and retain for a minimum time certain computer traffic data. Such data shall be provided to the state authorities under request. Moreover, the Criteria request such operators to establish user identification systems.
