The President of Peru issued the Digital Trust Framework Emergency Decree (DU 007-2020). The Decree outlines the Digital Trust Framework, which is a group of principles, models, policies, standards and tools to ensure trust in the digital environment. The Decree gives the Presidency of the Council of Ministers the power, through the Digital Government Secretariat, to formulate the "Digital Trust strategy" at the national level and issue guidelines, standards and directives to pursue its fulfilment. Moreover, the Decree establishes the "National Center for Digital Security", which shall monitor and enhance the digital security in the country. Every digital service provider (including private companies, public administration and academic institutions) is obliged to notify the Center of any digital security incident and is recommended to store data only as long as necessary. Finally, the "National Data Center" is created as a digital platform that supervises the use of digital data as strategic assets at the national level, and is governed by the Presidency of the Council of Ministers.
