On 19 May 2020, Trade Regulation 50/2020 on E-Commerce was adopted, implementing Government Regulation No. 80 of 2019 regarding Trading through Electronic Systems. The Regulation was issued by the Indonesian Ministry of Trade (MOT) and if put into force, would empower the MOT to authorise the transfer of personal information outside the country.
