China: Drafted National Health Commission Guidelines

On 9 June 2021, the Chinese National Health Commission released the draft protection guidelines. The guidelines apply to health and medical data and introduce several localisation obligations, including the requirement for data generated and collected in China to be stored locally and the obligation to acquire approval for international health data transfers from the State Internet and Communications Department.
