On 20 October 2020, the Pakistan Telecom Authority published the Removal and Blocking of Unlawful Online Content (Procedure, Oversight and Safeguards) Rules 2020, which include a requirement for social media companies to register with the Pakistan Telecommunication Authority within three months of the law entering into force.
