United States of America: Introduced Educating Against Misinformation and Disinformation Act including establishment of new misinformation commission

On 8 March 2022, the "Educating Against Misinformation and Disinformation Act" was introduced in the US House of Representatives. The Act intends to counter Russian disinformation and educate American citizens on how to correctly collect trustworthy information on Russia's invasion of Ukraine. The Act further aims to create commission to combat misinformation and encourage media literacy. The new commission would provide an annual report on the state of education in the United States, as well as the larger issue of misinformation and disinformation. Finally , the Act would create a grant program to increase Americans' awareness of misinformation and disinformation and to carry out research on the level of media literacy in the United States.
