European Union: EU Commission closed third-party observations period on OpenAI OpCo, SoftBank Group Corp. and SB OAI Japan GK concentration

On 27 April 2026, the third-party observations period on the proposed concentration in Case M.12391 closed. The European Commission had opened the observations period on 17 April 2026 following the publication of the prior notification of the proposed acquisition of joint control of SB OAI Japan GK by OpenAI OpCo, LLC and C Holdings Corporation, controlled by SoftBank Group Corp., in the Official Journal of the European Union.
