On 6 April 2026, the Bill for the protection and responsible use of social networks by children, adolescents, and youth, including age verification requirements, was introduced to the Chamber of Deputies. The law requires social network service providers to implement robust and reliable age verification systems to enforce age-based access restrictions. Providers are further prohibited from enabling accounts for users under 13 years of age and must establish traceable verification mechanisms to confirm parental consent for users aged 14–16. These age verification systems will be subject to regular monitoring by the enforcement authority designated by the National Executive Power, ensuring compliance with the Law's protective framework.
