Announcement of negotiations on new UK-Canada Free Trade Agreement including digital trade

On 24 March, 2022, the United Kingdom and Canada announced negotiations for a new trade agreement. The newly formed "Free Trade Agreement" deal would replace the one that is already in place, namely the "Trade Continuity Agreement". A focus of the agreement will be digital trade and increased innovation. More specifically, the UK will boost its service sector availability in Canada, reduce export barriers, and stimulate more Canadian investment in the UK.
