On 15 April 2026, the presidents of Vietnam and China outlined strategic orientations in the areas of economic and technological engagement. The discussions referred to measures related to technology transfer to Vietnam, the development of supporting industries, and the establishment of production and supply chains within the country. The Chinese side referred to the possibility of expanding engagement in selected sectors, including through coordination on industrial development and production and supply chain linkages. The outlined areas also include collaboration between relevant authorities and stakeholders in relation to production networks and industrial development.
