On 10 April 2026, the European Commission published the factsheet from its monitoring exercise under the code of conduct on countering illegal hate speech online, drawing on 3,356 notices submitted by 41 monitoring reporters from 24 European Union (EU) member states. Across all participating platforms, 60.6% of reported content was removed, with 57.7% of notices reviewed within 24 hours. The most commonly reported grounds were anti-Muslim hatred (16.6%), hate based on sexual orientation (15.4%), and xenophobia (14.5%). It was highlighted that TikTok received 362 notices in total, with 241 valid cases. Removal rates were 83.8% through designated channels and 67.7% through ordinary channels, with review within 24 hours achieved for 88.7% and 90.1% of notices, respectively. It was further stated that four of thirteen disputed cases were resolved during the data consolidation period.
