Bill on artificial intelligence companions was introduced to Senate

On 2 February 2026, the Bill on artificial intelligence (AI) companions was introduced to the Senate. The Bill requires operators to notify users that they are interacting with AI rather than a human, implement evidence-based protocols to detect and interrupt conversations involving suicidal or self-harm ideation, and refer affected users to crisis resources.
