Italian Data Protection Authority launches Investigation into Kaspersky Antivirus Software
On 18 March 2022, the Italian Data Protection Authority launched an investigation into the Kaspersky Antivirus Software. The authority aims to assess the risks posed to Italian subjects regarding their personal data, following developments in Ukraine. More specifically, Kaspersky must disclose the amount and type of Italian customers, how their data is processed and whether it is transferred outside the EU. Furthermore, Karspersky must provide information on whether third countries have requested the personal data of Italian subjects and whether such requests were followed.
