Republic of Korea: United States and Republic of Korea issued Joint Fact Sheet including commitment to facilitate cross-border transfer of data

On 13 November 2025, the United States and the Republic of Korea (ROK) issued a Joint Fact Sheet following a meeting between their respective presidents, including a range of reciprocal trade commitments, such as facilitating the cross-border transfer of data including location, reinsurance, and personal data. Further, the two parties aim to ensure that companies do not face unnecessary barriers or discrimination regarding laws and policies for digital services, such as network usage fees and online platform regulations.
