Indonesia: Ministry of Communication and Digital Affairs announced X's compliance with age verification requirement under Regulation concerning governance of electronic system implementation in child protection

On 17 March 2026, the Ministry of Communication and Digital Affairs announced X's compliance with the age verification requirement under the Regulation concerning Governance of Electronic System Implementation in Child Protection. It was stated that X aligned its minimum user age with the Regulation by setting it at 16 years. The measure applies to providers of high-risk social media and networking services operating as electronic system organisers in Indonesia. It was also stated that X committed to updating its policies and identifying and deactivating accounts that do not meet the minimum age requirement.
