On 18 March 2026, the Decree regulating the Law for protection of children in digital environments and establishing national policy and oversight framework, including content moderation regulation, entered into force upon receiving the President's assent. The Decree requires providers of digital services accessible to children and adolescents to implement robust content moderation measures, including the prompt removal of illegal or harmful content such as material involving sexual exploitation, abuse, enticement, or other serious risks. Platforms are also required to establish accessible reporting mechanisms, prioritise complaints from authorised actors, including victims, authorities, or accredited organisations, and proactively detect, remove, and preserve evidence of violations while forwarding reports to competent authorities. It also provides that recurrent failures in moderation systems may trigger penalties, while obligations also extend to preventing minors’ exposure to prohibited content, including through age verification and default restrictions.
