India: Opened consultation on Framework for Fairness Assessment of Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning Systems

On 22 February 2022, the Indian Department of Telecommunications launched a consultation on the Framework for Fairness Assessment of Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Machine Learning (ML) Systems, which will last until 8 March 2022. The goal of the consultation is to collect potential framing procedures for assessing fairness in different AI and ML systems, in order to develop a Voluntary Fairness Assessment for AI and ML systems. The key issue to be tackled is discrimination by AI and ML systems due to unintended bias.
