On 6 March 2026, the order establishing criteria for announcing and removing names of individuals related to commission of technology crimes (No. B.E. 2569) enters into force. The order applies to financial institutions and service providers involved in financial transactions and digital asset services, including account management, payment processing and digital asset wallet services. It authorises the OCPTC to designate individuals whose bank accounts, electronic payment accounts or digital asset wallet addresses are linked to suspected technology crimes, including cases reported by financial institutions or identified through suspicious transaction monitoring and anti-money laundering customer due diligence processes. Once listed, financial institutions may be instructed to refuse account openings, suspend transactions, restrict services or close accounts associated with the listed individuals or wallet addresses. The order also establishes procedures for removing names from the list if subsequent investigations determine that the individual is no longer connected to technology crimes.
