Korea-Brazil announced intention to sign a memorandum of understanding on broadcasting media cooperation

On 24 February 2026, the Korean Media and Communications Commission announced a partnership to advance cooperation in next-generation broadcasting and media technologies with Brazil. The collaboration focuses on supporting the implementation of the TV 3.0 media platform in Brazil by utilising Korean experience in ultra-high-definition broadcasting and transmission technologies. TV 3.0 is a next-generation television standard in Brazil, which merges terrestrial broadcasting with streaming to deliver 4K or ultra high definition (UHD) content, high-quality audio, and interactive, personalised services. The initiative also promotes policy exchange, infrastructure cooperation, and joint development of media services and content, including responses to the expansion of over-the-top (OTT) services. The parties intend to continue discussions on cooperation measures, including the potential conclusion of a memorandum of understanding on technology cooperation.
