Kazakhstan-Kenya announced Economic and Digital Cooperation

On 17 February 2026, the Governments of Kenya and Kazakhstan announced plans to strengthen bilateral economic and digital cooperation during the Kazakhstan–Kenya Business Forum. The initiative seeks to expand trade and investment and to promote value chains linking Central Asia and East Africa. Cooperation is expected to cover areas of digital transformation, including e-government systems, financial technology (fintech), cybersecurity, and startup support. The two governments also indicated their intention to develop labour mobility frameworks to facilitate managed migration and protect workers’ rights in sectors such as engineering and information and communications technology (ICT).
