Internet Code of Practice including rules regarding deployment of AI and emerging technologies, enters into force with grace period

On 15 May 2026, the Internet Code of Practice, including rules regarding the deployment of Artificial Intelligence (AI) and emerging technologies, enters into force with a grace period. The Code requires Internet Access Service Providers to notify the Commission before deploying AI or other emerging technological tools affecting network management or customer engagement. The notification must specify the services impacted, any existing services to be replaced, planned upgrades or modifications, and the implementation timeline, lifespan, and sunsetting arrangements for the tools.
