Introduced Stop Marketing And Revealing The Wearables And Trackers Consumer Health (SMARTWATCH) Data Act

On 1 March 2021, the Stop Marketing And Revealing The Wearables And Trackers Consumer Health (SMARTWATCH) Data Act (S. 500) was introduced in the US Senate. The bill prohibits the commercialisation of personal health data collected through smartwatches and other consumer devices. Exceptions include cases in which informed user consent was given or specific commercial activities demands the data collection.
