On 20 February 2026, the Securities and Exchange Commission of Thailand (SEC) determined that Bitazza International Limited (Bitazza Global) and Bitazza Co., Ltd., together with their executives, had jointly operated an unauthorised digital asset exchange in Thailand in violation of Section 26 of the Emergency Decree on Digital Asset Businesses B.E. 2561 (2018), which requires digital asset business operators to obtain a licence from the Minister upon recommendation of the SEC. The SEC found that the firms provided a digital asset trading platform and charged transaction fees. The firms promoted their services in Thai via social media since 25 May 2023. The SEC further found that access to the platform was limited to customers residing in Thailand and that the terms and conditions referenced Thai government agencies. Customers were able to access Bitazza Global’s services through Bitazza’s website and mobile application without additional verification. In addition, Bitazza Co., Ltd. provided essential system services to the platform. Furthermore, the SEC filed a criminal complaint with the Economic Crime Suppression Division of the Royal Thai Police and transmitted information concerning the platform to the Ministry of Digital Economy and Society for access blocking under the Emergency Decree on Measures for the Prevention and Suppression of Technology Crimes (No. 2) B.E. 2568 (2025). The Ministry’s blocking order will render the Bitazza Global platform inaccessible in Thailand from 22 March 2026.
