The Singapore Cyber Security Act is adopted by the Singapore Parliament and will be implemented when it will receive the President's assent. The Act introduces a framework to oversee and maintain cybersecurity in Singapore. First, the Act aims to strengthen the cyber security of Critical Information Infrastructure (CII) by providing CII owners with clear obligations. Second, the Act allows the Cybersecurity Commissioner to investigate cybersecurity threats and incidents to determine their dimension and prevent further harm. Third, the Act establishes a framework for information sharing between government agencies and owners of computer systems. Finally, the Act introduces a licensing framework for cybersecurity service providers that pursue penetration testing and security operations centre (SOC) monitoring.
