On 6 February 2026, the Beijing Cyberspace Administration, under the guidance of the national Cyberspace Administration of China (CAC), issued a fine of CNY 119.1 million against video-sharing platform Beijing Kuaishou Technology Co., Ltd. (Kuaishou Technology) and ordered the company to take rectifying measures following a surge in pornographic and vulgar content on its services. The Administration acted in accordance with the Cybersecurity Law of the People’s Republic of China, and found failures to fulfil cybersecurity obligations, to promptly remedy system vulnerabilities and other security risks, and to immediately stop the transmission and remove illegal user-generated information.
