Vietnam: Ministry of Industry and Trade closes consultation on draft Law amending Laws on commerce, competition, foreign trade management, and consumer protection including measures regarding merger control

On 2 February 2026, the Ministry of Industry and Trade closes the public consultation, which had been open since 21 January 2026, on the Draft Law amending the Law on Commerce, the Law on Competition, the Law on Foreign Trade Management, and the Law on Consumer Rights Protection, including merger control regulation. The draft law proposes amendments to economic concentration control under the Law on Competition, including forms of economic concentration, criteria for assessment, determination of relevant markets, market share and combined market share, notification thresholds, notification dossiers, validity of assessment results, and handling of violations.
