United States of America: TikTok USDS Joint Venture LLC established in compliance with the Executive Order on saving TikTok while protecting national security

On 22 January 2026, TikTok US Joint Venture was established in accordance with the Executive Order signed on 25 September 2025, which addresses the operation of TikTok while considering national security requirements. The joint venture is majority US-owned and manages TikTok’s US applications and services. It is responsible for US user data, applications, and the content recommendation algorithm, all hosted in Oracle’s secure US cloud environment. The joint venture maintains a data privacy and cybersecurity programme subject to third-party audit and certification, aligned with the National Institute of Standards and Technology Cybersecurity Framework, NIST SP 800-53, ISO/IEC 27001, and the Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency Security Requirements for Restricted Transactions. It oversees trust and safety policies, content moderation, software assurance, source code review, transparency reporting, and third-party certifications.
