Ministry of Industry and Information Technology adopted Action Plan for the High-Quality Development of Industrial Internet Platforms (2026–2028)

On 29 December 2025, Ministry of Industry and Information Technology adopted the Action Plan for the High-Quality Development of Industrial Internet Platforms (2026–2028), aiming to implement the decisions and arrangements of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China and the State Council on advancing new industrialisation and high-quality development. The Action Plan defines industrial internet platforms as strategic infrastructure for large-scale data aggregation, model accumulation and application development. The Action Plan sets objectives to accelerate the integrated application of next-generation information technologies across the full industrial chain and to promote the iterative upgrading and scaled deployment of industrial internet platforms. To this end, the Action Plan targets the development of standards for interoperability between internet platforms. The Action Plan also sets out actions covering platform cultivation, industrial data governance, industrial model systems, artificial intelligence empowerment, large-scale application, ecosystem development, standardisation, international cooperation and platform security assurance.
