China: State Administration for Market Regulation announced investigation into Trip.com over alleged abuse of dominant market position

On 14 January 2026, the State Administration for Market Regulation (SAMR) of China announced an investigation into Trip.com (known as Ctrip.com in China) over alleged abuse of dominant market position pursuant to the Anti-Monopoly Law. Trip.com provides a number of services in the travel services sector, including accommodation booking, ticketing, packaged tours, and corporate travel management.
