Online Safety (Fees) Regulations 2025 enter into force

On 1 January 2026, the Online Safety (Fees) Regulations under the Online Safety Act 2025, enter into force. The Act provides that the Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission may issue directions to service providers and shall maintain a register of such directions. The Regulations apply to parties seeking access to the Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission’s register of directions. They set a fee of RM 100 for inspection of the register and RM 1 per page for copies or extracts.
