Description

Korea Fair Trade Commission imposed corrective orders prohibiting recurrence and imposed an administrative fine of KRW 500'000 on MyRealTrip following investigation under the Act on Consumer Protection in Electronic Commerce

On 6 January 2026, the Korea Fair Trade Commission (KFTC) imposed corrective orders and an administrative fine of KRW 500,000 on MyRealTrip for non-compliance with the Act on Consumer Protection in Electronic Commerce. The KFTC found that MyRealTrip, acting as an online marketplace operator, failed to display mandatory operator identification information and to link the terms of use on the initial app screen, in violation of Article 10(1) of the Act. The KFTC further found that MyRealTrip, acting as an online marketplace intermediary, failed to verify and provide consumers, prior to subscription, with the required identification information of its brokerage clients, including domestic mail order business registration numbers and overseas business addresses. It also failed to provide app functionality enabling such disclosure, in violation of Article 20(2) of the Act. The corrective orders prohibit the recurrence of identical or similar conduct.
